| Knitting Workshop (4 sessions for $80 or $25 per session) |
| Tuesdays (ongoing), 7 pm - 9 pm |
| Learn how to knit or crochet! Bring your own project or start a new one! This unstructured class is for those who need professional help on whatever
they are working on. All skill levels are welcome. Whether you need to learn the basics, tackle your first sweater, or learn a new stitch,
you may sign up in advance for 4 sessions at a discounted rate of $80, or you can attend whenever you need help for $25/session. Please call at least three
hours in advance to sign up for a single session.
Possible topics include (but are not limited to): learn how to knit or crochet, how to read a pattern, beginner's hats, beginner's socks, knitting in the round, beginner's lace, knitting in the round with two circular needles or with one needle (ie. magic loop), short row socks, socks from the toe up, professional finishing techniques, alternative cast ons, continental knitting, fair-isle, intarsia, & design a sweater from the top down. |

| Want to learn how to knit or crochet? Are you stuck on a knitting problem? Yearning to learn cables or can't remember how to pick up stitches? Or maybe you need help reading a pattern? The Knitting Doctor can help. Renee will be on hand every Saturday afternoon to patch you up and ease the pain. Reservations are high recommended but not required. |
| Intro to Lace Knitting (1 session $30) |
| Saturday May 3rd, 10 am - Noon Wednesday May 14th, 7 - 9 pm |
| The first in a series of classes on lace knitting, taught by Renee Rico, an expert knitter with 35 years of experience! In this class we will provide an introcution to the world of lace knitting by doing a swatch, learning the structure of lace, and starting on a simple waschcloth project in a simple lace pattern. Handouts will include basic tips and tricks of lace knitting, as well as links to internet resources on lace and some pattern suggestions for new lace knitters. Skills needed: cast on, knit, purl, cast off, decreasing (k2tog & ssk) |
| Aurora Yarns Spring Fashion Show |

| Frederikka Payne, owner of yarn distributor Aurora Yarns here in Moss Beach, CA, returns for the Spring 2008 edition of her popular fashion show. Aurora is the distributor of 2 European yarn lines, Steinbachwolle and Ornaghi Filati. The fashion show will spotlight new yarns for Spring 2008 as well as seasoned favorites. Frederikka will bring patterns and bags upon bags of yarns to purchase, so if you like something you see you can probably buy it right on the spot! We will also have refreshments and door prizes - in other words, fun for everyone! |
| Lace Triangle Shawl (1 session $30) |

| We will look at the structure of a triangular shawl, and create a shawl with lace. Participants will practice a cast-on and sample for a larger shawl, and receive information and assistance in pattern, yarn, and needle-size choices for your project, as well as info on blocking your shawl. This class can get you going for a great summer project! Skills needed: Skills for Intro To Lace Knitting plus knowledge of yarnovers, double decreases, and reading a lace pattern. |
| Reading Charts/Fixing Mistakes in Lace (1 session $30) |

| Modern lace patterns often include charts or have charts as their sole method of directions. We'll cover the basics of reading lace charts, look at variations in how charts are developed and read. Also, we'll look at some basic ways to figure out mistakes and how to correct them without ripping out rows and rows of knitting. Skills needed: Skills for intro to Lace Knitting plus knowledge of yarnovers, double decreases, and reading a lace pattern. |
| Lace Edgings for Garments (1 session $30) |
| Saturday June 14th, 10 am - Noon |
| Lace edgings can turn an OK garment into a fabulous garment. We'll explore some simple lace edgings that can make your garments sing! Handouts will provide resources on where to find lace edging patterns and thoughts on incorporating them into projects. NOTE: There is homework for this class - you will be knitting swatches on which you will apply your lace edgings! Skills needed: Skills for intro to Lace Knitting plus knowledge of yarnovers, double decreases, and reading a lace pattern. |

| Kick back, relax, bring your favorite project, as for advice, talk about your knitting, and make some new friends. This is an unstructured gathering of like-minded people who enjoy to knit & crochet. |
| Class materials must be purchased at Marin Fiber Arts. Payment of class fee required to guarantee spot in class. If you cancel at least a week before class begins, a full refund will be given. No refunds for cancellation thereafter. If Marin Fiber Arts/instructor cancels a class, a full refund will be issued. |
